SUMMARY:Figure Lab\, costume or nude. Artist choice of medium. No teacher. Wednesdays_ 1-4 pm_ March 18th - April 15th. Studio 2 _5 sessions.
DESCRIPTION:The Multi-Media Figure Lab is an uninstructed workshop with a costumed or nude model for Portrait or Figure work\, Wednesdays 1-4 pm. Students work independently from the model\, with an optional group discussion about the work at the end of each session.  Models are hired through the Bay Area Models Guild and the workshop charge covers the model fee.  A monitor will set up the lighting and pose each session.  Sessions feature one long pose\, with possible five to twenty minutes of short poses to start each session.  All media – watercolor\, acrylic\, charcoal\, pastels\, and oil paint – are welcome. No volatile thinners\, please.  The workshop takes place in Studio Two. \n  \nStudents register for the five sessions\, Class is limited to 20. No drop in.

DESCRIPTION:Beginning/Intermediate Watercolor Painting \nSpring 2026 \nRonald Pratt \n  \nGateway\, Painting Studio 1 \n Spring is a wonderful time of the year where the days are becoming longer\, the rains are a little less frequent and the temperature starts to climb to a comfortable level.  Outside nature starts to splash us with a colorful array of blossoms\, the birds start arriving from their winter habitat and the forests come alive with a bounty of living creatures.  I feel like I am waking up from a long winter nap and can sense the energy and excitement of summertime just around the corner.  This is the time I am my most creative and can’t wait to sit down and paint. \nIf you are like me and feel the excitement of spring and want to paint come join us at the Rossmoor Art Association’s Activity Center on Thursday Mornings for a watercolor painting class designed for you.  The focus of this class is the fundamentals of painting.  You will be given step by step demonstrations of watercolor painting to inspire you while in a friendly atmosphere that will encourage you to explore your own individual creativity.  Subject matter will include spring flowers\, a poppy covered hillside\, a nature scene and a still life. \nThis watercolor painting class will be at the Rossmoor Activities Center\, Painting Studio 1 on Thursday Mornings from 9 am to 11:30 am.  This 10 week class will run from April 2nd to June 18 (no class on 4/30 and 5/7) at a cost of $160.  For Non-Rossmoor Residents the class fee is $180.  Priority will be given to Rossmoor Residents.  Suggested materials will be discussed at the first class. \n  \nTo register go to the Rossmoor Art Association Website ( www.rossmoorart.com )and click on classes on the header bar.  Scroll down until you come to Beginning/Intermediate Watercolor Painting with Ron Pratt and follow the instructions to enroll.  The class maximum is 20 students due to space limitations so get your registration in to reserve your seat in the class. \n  \nTo see Ronald’s Watercolors go to www.ronaldpratt.com.  Please direct questions to Ronald at ronpratt14@gmail.com or call him at (510) 366-7740.  Further information on all RAA activities can be found at www.rossmoorart.com.
