This beginning drawing is geared towards artists drawing in charcoal for the first time and building charcoal drawing skills.  We will work on creating solid forms with charcoal.  The class starts with simple shapes like eggs and cylinders, creating the form and on the cast shadow with the emphasis on values, then ellipses and simple perspective.  We will move to black and white portraits in the last couple of sessions, working from your photographs.
