Class Structure and Pricing:
Introduction to the classical drawing principles to achieve 3-dimensionality of objects and portraits. Light and shadow utilizing the 5-value system to achieve form, edge distinctions for form/cast shadow and perspective will also be discussed. We will work from photo reference as well as from life depending on the subject matter — portraiture vs. still life.

Paper:
- Recommended for beginner: Smooth Newsprint Pad 11×14” – or whatever size you prefer
- Recommended for intermediate: Sketch paper Series 300 or 400 11X14” – or whatever size you prefer
Drawing Clip Board – 11×17 or whatever size you prefer
Vine Charcoal – soft or medium
Compressed charcoal (one stick minimum)
Kneaded Eraser and/or stick eraser
Blending stumps and/or Tortillons for blending
