Floral Painting with Suzanne D’Arcy
Painting is a marvelous activity as it teaches us to look and observe without visual cliches into the environment around us. Flowers deserve a full “read” for their beauty, design, colors, and shapes; they add a fantastic gorgeous and joyous element to our lives.
In this class we will learn how to identify the basic shapes of each unique species. Learning to mix and understand color and color harmonies will enhance the emotional effect of one’s painting. With acrylic or oil paints, we can explore this beautiful world of floral painting.
We’ll start with a basic color palette and progressively add colors. Composition and its components will be covered, as well as lighting, brush use and care. Excepting the first week, flowers, artificial or real, will be supplied by the students. Schedule will be emailed, and painting will start on the first day of class. Beginners and all skill levels welcome!
