“Painting Momentum”
Surround yourself with ideas, ambient light, and your painting tools! Whether you’re a beginner or hold an MFA, we take a fresh look together at fundamentals. My style is to offer you constant support at your easels, where you are painting what you love.
Are you a brand-new artist? Are you starting a new painting or revisiting a piece? Whether abstract or representational, work your individual style in oils or acrylics. (Watercolorists may also join this series.) Try fresh ideas. Skirt common pitfalls in this convivial class.
I enjoying helping to develop good sequencing in the painting process. Typically we simplify new and age-old painting concepts with short demonstrations and handouts and a bit of levity. I offer information on form, light, composition, values, atmospheric perspective, color mixing, media, etc. I’m happy to oblige when painters request a special focus or demo.
Connect the dots of composition, color partnering, and technique that fit your style. Paint using sources you choose, preferably photographic, and benefit from sharing your progress with others. In Studio 1 we all help each other.
Having been a full-time artist for decades, I bring that success to Studio 1 and enjoy sharing what I love. Being a fine arts instructor for more than eleven years here, I witness a lot of student success and feel proud of it. Our Tuesday studio is a warm place—we have fun, we encourage each other, and we all celebrate in the final class with a festival showing of finished work and pieces in progress.
I’ve exhibited in the U.S. and Italy, galleries, museum shows, etc. I show both abstract and representational art, and I paint on silk. See my pieces in Gateway and Creekside and at annageorgeartist.com and at annageorgeonline.com. Ask about news on an upcoming show of my work nearby.
Painting Momentum with Anna George__Tuesdays 1-4__Studio 1__ starts September 12
